Zamch

Zamch — Group Life, One App.

Zamch (pronounced zamtch) is a mobile app for people sharing life together — flatmates, travel companions, friend groups. It replaces scattered notes, forgotten shopping lists, and messy group chats with one calm, organized space.

Features

Shopping lists, expense tracking with multi-currency support, shared calendars, group polls, chore assignments, packing lists, travel timelines with maps, trip organization, travel tracking across transport modes, and announcements.

Every group is different, so features can be toggled on or off to fit your setup. Notification preferences are individually configurable by category.

The Name

Zamch (замч) is a Mongolian word meaning "fellow traveler" — someone sharing your path. Mongolia's nomadic culture is built on communal living: families travel together, share resources, and rely on each other across vast landscapes. That's exactly what living with roommates or traveling with friends is — navigating life together.

The Icon

The app icon uses Traditional Mongolian script, one of the world's few vertical writing systems. The four letters of замч flow top to bottom in a single continuous brushstroke:

  • ᠵ — З (Z)
  • ᠠ — А (A)
  • ᠮ — М (M)
  • ᠴ — Ч (CH)

The terracotta-on-dark palette draws from Mongolian earth tones — the ochre of the steppe, the warmth of a shared ger at night.
